Does SNL Suck?

After nearly 33 years on the air, Saturday Night Live has made quite a name for itself and has garnered quite a cult following. Is it all becoming a bit too much?

This past Saturday, a brand new episode of SNL aired -- it was one of the first non-talk-show television series to hit the air waves across the nation since the writer's strike. This highly anticipated episode, hosted by Tina Fey with musical guest Carrie Underwood, turned into more of a flop than it did a glorious return. But, is that just the trend of SNL episodes as of late? Is the show really passed its prime?

With a supposed finger on the pulse of the political and pop-culture world, nothing is left untouched when SNL hits the stage. But, are the skits even funny anymore? They go from politically charged sketches to flatulence and bodily fluids in the blink of an eye, and it all seems a little childish, really.
